Now at the date 24.02.2009 is the last entry in this section. As the puppies sold will go to their new owners this week. All training and weight gaining went very well.

The life is going fast in fast lane for the puppies. They are now going outside in various suroundings. Thankfully the weather did get better on the right time. The snow is gone for now and the heat is over the 0. Yesterday it was +6 degrees and not that windy so of they went to explore new world of grass, lava, sea smell, some dirt and uneven surface. And they did enjoy the time for whole 15 min in first round. And did not want to be taken in Cage to warm up again in the car  They do like to go for drive and are very quick into the travel cage of their´s when the see it. Frosti and Cortes were the first to explore this "big " world with their new owners so they could be the "world professor´s " for the whole group. I thought they would be tired, but no they where not, I just love the energy, temprament and their strenght. All that I did hope for with this combination, no hesitation in new surroundings, no unsercurness. Also they are already with harsh coat and 2 of them extremly harsh no soft puppie coat on any of them. Now it is only waiting to see their final bodystructure but it is very promising in all of them. The future is bright for them in new homes with excellent families

Today the got their first meal without being soaked in warm water first and they started in football  very funny sights to see but in the end they did understand what to do with these foodballs....

It has been very busy for the puppies. They went to the vetenary today for their first health check, microchiping, deworming and Parvo virus vaccination. They did not mind the needle and where very busy exploring and trying to drink my coffee  it must be a gene from the mother she loves expresso so much. We were very glad to be able to have the owners name for microchip registration. The vetenary was very happy with all the puppies they are in good weight, devloping well and the testicals are in place and both of them for males. Next vaccination is at 10 weeks.

3 of them went for a working day from 09:30 - 13:00. It was at my work in school and there was of course kids that they have not seen before. The puppies that went to day are Frosti, Fönn ( the female ) and Jafrak. They did like it very much to be the center of an attention and where quite happy for the time spent with the kids.

The day showed me that their temprament is steady, even and they can handle different situation quite well at this age. No crying or trying to run away in those circumstances that they had to face today.

Friday the 13th it will be another group at work with me, Cortes, Tumi ( the puppy with brown collar ) and Fönn.

It was a very fine day today. The weather was sunny, no vind and the heat was around -2 on celesius. So out they went in a group for very short time to feel the air and the touch of cold stones. And they did divide them selfs into 2 groups, the softies  and the real icelanders eating snow  I will not say their names because 2 of them have already been a bit outside before with their owners to be.  They are screaming for food and are enthusiastic in the meal time. Drinking water and liking the pure drink coming from spring water.

Jafrak Snow Wonder do not feed them any more and bites them off if they try to get a sip from her. She is very tired of her offsprings and do hide out when they are out of the crib.

This week we will have to make up our mind about the female. The person that had her reserved did take male when he came for visit. So the female is "free" but not that free. She will be put up for sale in next couple of weeks if she is not to our demand in temprament. She is of course REAL bitch when it comes to food and toys. For her bodystructure we have to wait a bit, she is not well developed compare to her brothers, she take it in right speed no hurry there.

Picture were taken, but at this age the cannot be still and chase everything and the flashlight was the most dangerous thing around. Hopefully my friend was able to catch some though and they will come soon.

It is fast changing world for the puppies now and they are in fast lane in growth. But we surely hope that their body building will keep up what we have seen. But nothing is save no matter how good looking they are as puppies. Everything can change in a blink of an eye. So far we like what we see in all of them, some are more challange then others. We are breeding for health and the temprament as our priority in this breed. Of course it will be nice to have the squere perfect building, but it is not our first choise for bredding. If the health and temprament is not in order, the dog will not be in order. What is the point then having good looking dog with no health or bad temprament. We have the lines behind the dogs to calculate from into the future. The siblings from Caruso of Taita´s Ushabti have given excellent puppies both his sister and his brother. Therefor it is urgent for us to keep those lines in our dogs. This puppies will be in our foundation in breeding for the future.

Their teeths are coming through and they really need to chew a lot these days. They are very curious for every movement and smell that they come in contact with.

This is Svarthöfða Hrimnis Jarod Funi and his name will be Cortes from a famous Icelandic opera singer. It suits him well becaue his father has also a big name after a famous italian opera singer Caruso . He is in the arms of his new owner that is waiting for him. He got to take a small social call today with his owner to be. And Cortes was relaxed and totally happy in his arms as we can see on the photo. The trip went very well there was no problem and no sounds from Cortes, he is so happy in this arms and we are so pleased with this family. There is lot of snow now in Iceland and rather cold so he had be in overall to prevent him to be cold and he was also totally happy about been put in this outfit We thank his new family for those pictures and it is prizeless to see how well he fits in the new family that will be his new masters only in 3 weeks.

All the puppies are doing so well and are healthy and very even in size and weight. They are getting food now in porridge. Their teeths are coming and they are sharp so Jafrak Snow Wonder is already biting them off, she is a very strict mother to her offsprings.

Last few days the puppies have grown much both mentally and physically. They have been moved away from the safe room and are now in the hall. There they can follow every move in the house and see the other dogs. The also hear all the sounds that are in normal household, TV, vagum cleaner, washingmachine, blender, pots and pans, running water and of course the runing and walking from the people in the house. Having kids does make some loud sounds from time to time. They are adopting well to this new area and are of course very tired after the day. But they have learnd that they can go to sleep even if there is something going on around them.

But when theyr are awake the have demands and lot of them  they want human contact "NOW" and call for peting, been taken up and cuddled, played with a llitle bit and walk free on those funny slippery tiles on the floor. They are having some extra milk now because Jafrak Snow Wonder has decided that they are geting to old for mothers milk 6 times a day and never during the night. I find it to soon somehow and I give them in the afternoon.

Next week it is water and solid food to start.

All the puppies are strong and healthy and are constantly hungry  For that reason we started to feed them yesterday. They are having very simple meal once a day to fill the small stomach. It is very thin oatmeal poridge with puppy milk from Royal Canin. They like this sticky thing on a plate and are very satisfied with this first meal. We think it is far to early to give them other food because their mother does still feed them 4 times per day. But she is already living them unattended during the night so their meal is late in the afternoon.

Our dear friend came over today to picture them having fun on their poridge plate. We surely hope that we will be able to put the pictures on the website. It has been difficulties to download from the computer but we hope and will keep trying 

All the puppies have open their eyes completly and are standing on their feets. The are walking very slowy around their area which is well fenced off. Today they had their first deworming at the same time Jafrak Snow Wonder did get deworming. It was the vetenary advise since the bitch is imported and this is her first litter. Of course we do what the vet suggest to us. The puppies did like the test of the medicine in their mouth  

We have had lot of traffic on our page all over the world and we are very glad for that. Thank you everyone that are browsing.

All the puppies have opend their eyes. All are crowling very much around the litter crate and Jafrak Snow Wonder has a lot to do now follow them around and keep them clean. She is very busy keeping them at the same spot 

We are very happy that the puppies are gaining good weight and in proportion according to birthweight. 3 males are already trying to pull them selfs up and are crowling very fast around the litter box when they move.  The eyes are starting to open and my guess it will be wide open late next week. Jafrak Snow Wonder seems quite happy with her offsprings and even though that she is small and very feminine she keep very good guard and still control the house on her own terms when it comes to the other dogs. So far we have heard very little of veining in the box so all of them are fulfilled with their needs.

We have at least 2 males availble for sale and it might turnt into 3 males. So far is the female reserved but if she turnes out to be promising in temprament and movements we might hold her for our selfs and hope for good body construct as well. But the next 4 - 5 weeks are interesting to follow for this combination, good pedigree, very good temprament, harsh coat, well balanced and compact male and very femine small bitch.

All the puppies are doing great and they are starting to push each other around the litter box. Jafrak Snow Wonder is rather social dog and like to be with us more now then her offsprings. So we will move the litterbox to our daily area where she can watch us without living her offsprings. She seems not to need those quiet weeks that most bitches want for at least 2 weeks with their offsprings. She wants to be in the middle of things at all times so later this week the litterbox will be moved when the puppies haver reach at leat to be 10 days old it is safer for our opnion. Perhaps the bitch has better instinct what her offsprings needs and if she thinks that they can be left alone for couple of hours it is better to do so rather then move them. We just think it over a bit  It was difficult pregnancy for her so perhaps she just needs the time off and being her self.

All the puppies did gain weight their first 24 hours of living. They did all gain 5 gr. It is very good since Jafrak Snow Wonder was very tired after 2 days of sleepless nights and 2,5 hours of labour. We will put in news rapidly of the puppies on this page and pictcure will be in separate album for the litter.
